Taking a break from working on the Bowman sets to get a few more vintage sets in there. First two people to post their set of choice on this thread will have their sets up soon!

Oh, and in case you didn't notice we put 1950 bowman up last week. 1951 coming soon.

Do you collect these? All of them? Different backs? Same back?

My question would be, how should we list them? Standard Catalog and most other sites have them all listed as separate sets. That seems difficult when all of the fronts are the same.

Could we list them all as one set and use the back as a variation? Or is there some reason that wouldn't work?

Here's the combined checklist. Which would seem to work. We could find a numbering system that makes sense and keeps them in this general order. Or would people prefer them to be listed as different sets?

Would like to see the 1966 Topps set listed; thanks,

Well, that was easy. 1966 still has a lot of auctions to classify (20,000+) but there is enough data there to be useful, so I've listed the set. We've got guys working hard on that 20,000 but if anyone wants to help with those please let us know.

I do have some in my collection, but I am no expert at all about these. I really enjoy the cards but haven't delved too deep into the set. From my limited knowledge I don't see why you couldn't list them as two sets (4 and 5) for numbering purposes with back variations. An expert on the set may be able to chime with the best way to list them.

I believe using the combined checklist with a numbering system would work fine, and then list each of the back advertisers as a variation, much as you do with T206. It might be easier for collectors if you listed two sets, m101-4 and m101-5, and then listed each applicable back as a variant of the appropriate set. It can get a little dicey I suppose, as there are some backs that are in both sets but have only limited representation in one. For example, Block& Kuhl card numbers 1-20 are all m101-5 cards but the remaining numbers 21-200 are all m101-4. Either way, it would be a welcome addition from my perspective.

P.S. Thanks Andy for being quick on the trigger in nominating these.

No need to list all the back varieties as different sets, as long as there was a notation for which back was involved in each sale. The combined checklist would work nicely.

My other suggestion, predictably, is M116 Sporting Life.

Neat idea for a thread!

I'd love to see the regional Los Angeles Dodgers sets covered: Morrell, Bell, etc.

I'm going to work on the M101 sets this week with the combined checklist and try to invent a numbering system that will work.

We already have this issue with some of the Topps sets (for example the Sain back in the 1952 sets) where if the seller doesn't list the back of the card we don't know which variation it is. We're trying to list all future sets as generic sets and use the variations to further define the cards when we can.

I'd vote E121 and Leaf.. if there's a "next two" vote that comes up after these two. Happy to see '51 Bowman is on its way since it would have been one of my top two.

Regardless, I'm happy with anything you're able to provide (even if some records may not be fully complete) and whatever you choose to provide in future because it's FREE! Great service, thank you very much!

ADDING: only mention completeness of records, since this was pointed out in a prior thread by someone at VCP... as relating to CardTarget, any information is good information in my book.

We should have 99.9% of eBay auctions and all major vintage auctions houses covered. There are many auction houses we would like to track and are working on, but many of those focus on memorabilia and only have 50-100 cards each auction. We're getting the biggest ones first, but rest assured we're working on it. If you see any glaring holes, of course please email us and we'll try to fix 'em.

Thank you, I really appreciate the good work, and cannot stress any further, I have no issues at all. I was only responding to someone else's comment. For me, when using past prices for reference/bidding purposes, even an incomplete record effectively shows trends, range, etc. The more info the better of course, but who would have the time to look at scans of 10 more 1958 Topps Clementes when there's already 100+ listed (those numbers are made up) anyway... point being, the service is great as is... any improvements/additions are even more great... and you're offering a free service, so it wouldn't be my place to criticize anyway!!

I love CardTarget!
