I was going through and trying to organize my chaotic collection today, at least what is at home (mostly lower end stuff). I found this card, and though it's probably been shown once before, figured it was about time again. Whit Freeman was, amongst other things, a licensed announcer for Base Ball, so his card says....... Enjoy.

How does one go about getting an announcer's license?

If you knew how to get one, you'd be a know-it-all.
If you didn't, you'd be a dullard.

maybe there were some venues that were union, and he was saying he was licensed in that way.

LOL! Nice to be reminded it wasn't the internet that created self-aware cynicism.

Maybe it was Mark Twain. :D

I gets it fits in well with the back typography but it is a bit archane and/or archaic...... Barry obviously knew what it meant here already so I'm impressed :-)

He must have been a barrel of laughs at weddings.

I admit it. I had to look up stentor too.

I keep staring at his photo and think about him managing an event and hollering out to people with his friendly, humorous quips..."Dont worry folks, the seals that leap into the boat are of the friendly variety.". Etc.
I love this guy.

First time I've seen and now one of my all time favorite prewar items. Thanks for sharing Leon. Another one added to the want list :D.
