1947 Bond Bread Jackie Robinson -SGC 84 Value?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone...my first post. After reading through several threads I think I have found the right place. I buy and sell locally and recently came across a nice collection of pre 1950's cards. I must admit my knowledge lies in in the 57-69 range, which is where I spend most of my time and energy (and $). I buy collections and sell off what I do not want to pay for the cards I keep. I picked up a 1947 Bond Bread "rounded" corner version of Jackie Robinson from the 48 card set. I only see one graded "Authentic" on Ebay for sale @ $595. The one I have is graded a SGC 84 70... I only see 4 graded higher in the population report. Any idea what this baby is worth? Thanks you and I hope I didnt violate any posting requirments in asking and I posted this in the right place! James

James, I can not tell you, but I do know that there is a very large Jackie R collector that frequents this board (Shaun), and when he sees this, he will be able to give you a value.

I don't have one from the Jackie Robinson collection from said year. I have the Jackie Robinson "rounded corner" one from the 48 card collection with other top players from that year.

James,

If I were to venture a guess - I'd say around $600. I believe an SGC80 sold on eBay for $360. It's a great card - the trouble is PSA won't grade it, so those collecting for the registry won't put down crazy money for it. I'll eventually pick up one for my own collection - probably after I finish the set of 13.
