I am looking to buy a vintage Charlie Gehringer and Hal Newhouser autograph and I need the length to be 2 1/2 inches or less. One from their playing days 1920's through 40's would be ideal. It looks like my only option is to find one signed C. Gehringer verses the more common Chas Gehringer because of the size of his signature. With the Newhouser I could trim off his long "r" and the end of the name to get the size to work. Need the signatures to be on a blank background so no baseball cards or photos please.

Thanks,
Casey

.

. . . as your desired signatures may available themselves on signed/endorsed personal checks, multi-signature album pages, front signed first day covers, and narrow-width 3x5 index cards. Over the past year, I have viewed all in these formats that would meet you maximum 2-1/2" length. Never hurts to keep an eye out on eBay, or to contact some of our Net54 vintage baseball autograph dealers.

I have Gehringer for sale according to the dimensions your looking for. On index card, on a 1935 Goudey, and on a 90s RP Card.

I finally did find a nice Gehringer autograph. Still looking for a Hal Newhouser to complete my wish list. Early playing days signed in fountain pen would be awesome.

Thanks,
Casey

. . .

Hmmm . . . not surprised that you are still looking for the Newhouser
signature as he was not prone to a "small" signature; even as a rookie.

Will look through what I have, but doubtful that I have much from his early
days with the Tigers. Most of mine are from the WWII period, and likely in
pencil to boot. But never hurts for me to reconnect with my collection.
It has been quite awhile since I have looked through it.

Currently I have a signed GPC from 1948 but am trying for something a little earlier. Plus it appears to be ballpoint and not fountain pen. Thank you for looking!
