1936 Joe DiMaggio becomes the first Yankee and fifth player in major league history to hit two home runs in one inning. The 21-year old rookie outfielder’s homers come in the fifth frame in an 18-11 trouncing of the White Sox at Comiskey Park.

High-jack of the year (sorry):

I was sitting the cheap seats at Veteran's Stadium, Philadelphia, when Von Hayes (:)) hit two HR in the first versus the Mets. My friend was a live and die Met fan who was bitching and crying all over it. I told him to shut up and finish his beer, we were seeing a small bit of history. Phils won 26-7, the biggest blow-out I've ever watched.

I'm not positive the autograph is genuine, but I found in a young boys scrapbook from 1941-42 with several other autographed photos which appear good. It would be neat if it was because the photo is from the 5th or 6th game in the 56 game streak. Cut from A NY newspaper. Catcher is Rick Ferrell, 3rd baseman Harlond Clift, and Red Rolfe is about to be thrown out at the plate.

Was looking for my 1936 Original George Burke Photo with Burke's filing notes typed on the back, but someone beat me to it. Also have the 1936 R316? Pastel with the same photo.

Also, you can't read the nameplate on the framed/matted photo, but it is an Artists Proof painting commissioned by Dr. Beckett, thanking me for 5 year's of service to Beckett Media. You could also choose the 4 Yankees (Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle), Wayne Gretzky, Thurman Thomas (whoops 0 sorry to whomever chose that one!, along with another 10 or so other choices. There were some regular posters made to give to people, but only 150 AP's of each, and the large bulk of them were first stolen from an off-site location, then flooded, so I would say there are very few of the APs that really survived. Very sad story on those. But they did it right with Dr. B. - matted with cream colored cloth, your choice of wood, and museum glass. We sure miss working for him (I'm sure Rich Klein agrees!), but we are able to meet for lunch every few weeks to talk about the hobby.

Possibly one of the nastiest auction pics ever (sorry, will replace it when I receive card in a couple days), but am psyched to add this example of the SF legend.

Love the Dimaggio cards, guys. Every single card/photo is incredible.

Leon, what set are those first cards from? The two sheets of 4 with Gehrig and the Yankee Clipper.
