For some the answer is none. For me it's the Maris MVP card, I just love the way he pops against the red background.

As I've put this set together I like it more and more. With several great subsets and tough high numbers I've really enjoyed building this set, plus the card stock used must have been really good because there seems to be more readily available quality condition cards in this set than any other I've completed.

Not my card, can't get mine to upload.

Can't argue about those three Mike. I particularly like the Aaron, great colors!

This is a great, classic collector's set! Some of my favorites are the standard Maris #2, Mantle, Marichal, and Aaron. I'm not sure why, but my overall favorite from this set has always been the Billy Williams RC.

It's not my favorite. In fact pretty much the opposite. The 1961 Topps Bill Kunkel is one of the worst cards ever.

Come on guys...it's 1961..Topps should be able to get pictures and not use 7th grade art projects for cards.

I agree...there are some REALLY bad cards in 1961. As I am putting the set together though, there are some really classic cards as well. Love some of them posted already. Not my favorite Mantle, but the Maris is classic. Here are a couple to me that shine...great poses not seen often -

Not a fan of the All Star cards...or the Leaders...but overall, I do love the set, or learning to love the set. Probably would have been my last 60's set to attack, especially given the high numbers, just lucked into a good deal to start.

Can't agree more - as if the numerous cards of guys without even team hats on isn't enough they throw that one at us, doesn't even look like they gave the poor guy a belt.

John, I came into the set much the same way you did. Had no intention of putting the set together, went to an estate sale and they had the entire 1961 set in incredible condition. I picked up a bunch for resale and just couldn't part with them. Here I am now 64 shy of the set.

Cool story Bill...mine was simpler...my brother started them, got bored, and I traded him some Mantles...it was a great trade for both.

Agreed on all the hatless wonders card. For me personally, I collect Killebrew cards...hands down the worse Killer of them all.

I do love the design of the 61s...if only they had a better card of Harmon. Bothers me...haha. Topps zest for team accuracy...who cares!!

Many good choices here. My favorites are those that display the team uniform and logo, where the player is centered and takes up just the right proportion of the card, and where there is some sort of stadium or park backdrop---like these.

x2 for Billy Williams RC.

A classic set. Gosh, I wish I was born a decade earlier when it comes to collecting.

My favorite card from this set is the Hoyt Wilhelm shown above.

Famous for the knuckle ball, he's showing us how to grip it..... and he's a Hall Of Famer..... and the card is a tough high number.

That card has it all.
