Hello, I have this large broadside, which was recently discovered behind an old mirror. I have determined that as a result of John McGraw's refusal to play a 1904 World Series, and the fact that the Red Sox won the pennant a few days later, that a testimonial was held to honor the players. Manager Jimmy Collins, and star Cy Young were included in the honorees. The song "Tessie" was the star of the show, and every player was introduced by the The Royal Rooters (see page 123 of the book "Boston's Royal Rooters" by Peter Nash). My question is have anyone ever seen this item, and would you have any more information on it? We will be putting it up for auction June 7th. Thank You, Joel Hall

I don't know about the event, but the team wasn't called the Red Sox until 1908. Before then, they were the Boston Americans. The broadside doesn't say "Red Sox", so it looks authentic.
