Just a quick note to let everyone know that I've posted several lots of Red Sox memorabilia on EBay, with all proceeds to go to the Boston Marathon Relief Fund.
As parents of a son who we cheered on in the last 4 marathons (although not this one), as well as two other children who live and work in downtown Boston, my wife and I sat in horror to see the events of what should have been a day of glory and triumph unfold yesterday. It was impossible to feel anything other than horror, sorrow, and a sense of "There but for the grace of God...."
The items are all game used bats and jerseys----if you know anyone who may be interested please spread the word---every dime will go to the relief fund in Boston.
Thanks for your generosity.

Thanks Chris - all of us in Boston thank you.

Can you post a link to your auctions? Hopefully Leon won't mind this on the front page where it belongs in this situation...

Chris,

This is a wonderful gesture. Bid placed.

I would have PMed you here; however, agree with Leon that a series of friendly bumps makes sense.

Perhaps making the thread "sticky" is in order?

Best Regards,

Eric

Sorry to inform the group that I had to end the listings and realist the items. In my haste to get the original listings going I inadvertently specified the proceeds to go to the EBay Pink Fund, and after a long time on the phone with them this morning became convinced that they didn't have the online flexibility to make the change to the original listing, so I had to end them and start with new listings.
Although I'm a little discouraged to cancel all of everyone's original generosity, I hope that we can reestablish the momentum with the new listings.

It's been incredibly gratifying to see the outpouring of support toward Boston in the wake of these events, from Yankee Stadium to the Golden Gate Bridge. Not only are we BostonStrong, but AmericaProud.
Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.

Best Regards, Chris Sullivan

Hi to all--Just a quick note to let everyone know that the bidding on these items will end tomorrow morning---the response has already been fantastic. Thanks to all for the great support. In addition, Doug Allen at Legendary Auctions has generously committed to match all proceeds up to $5K---many thanks to Doug for that.
These proceeds will be sent to the OneFund.org, which has already raised more than $27 million at last check to aid victims of the bombings. Many of these victims have a long road ahead in rehabilitation, and their remarkable stories of optimism and perseverance have been inspirational.
Thanks again to everybody
Best Regards, Chris Sullivan

This was a nice enough gesture by Chris, and a great enough cause, that sticking it for a day would be the least our board can do.
