I went to the once a month Alameda Point show last Sunday…did pretty good overall…started kind of weak and by the time I got toward the back part of the show I hadn’t found much other than an antique frame with original wavy glass…and an interesting 1928 framed certificate awarded to a Mr. William C. Peet Jr. as a member of the Harvard Varsity Club….looked him up on the Harvard website and sho’nuff he was on there as a letterman for track and field. I’ve had a hard time figuring out too much more about him for certain. He may be related to the Disney Illustrator Bill Peet..but not really sure….and I did find a reference to a William C. Peet Jr. having lunch at the White House with Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1938….So apparently he went on to something…

And then I hit gold…about six rows from the back I came up to a table that hardly had much on it…some trinkets and so on….but lying flat on the table was a 30 3/4” x 19 3/8” cardstock Pale Ale advertising sign featuring a boxing scene. Although it’s from the 1950’s it’s the best looking boxing sign I’ve ever seen. I already had the sign which I found in Jan. 2012 and posted here (http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=145586&page=6)…but being it was only the second example I’ve seen I bought it for resale…It’s in a little better condition than the one I already have so may keep it and sell the other on eBay….

Nice pickup Carlton. I gotta get up early and make it over there one of these days.... my buddy goes once in awhile and had a table there even...and he says there are still good suprises to be had.

It's crowded with a lot of young urbanites looking to decorate their apartment with fatigued pale green furniture...and there sure seems to be a sharp increase in kitchy marhta stewart booths...along with the French import dealers...starting to remind me of the Santa Monica Airport flea...but it's still fun...and big!
