So the lot just sold, so not outing it. But I'm sure many members here saw this lot and maybe someone here even won it. But the whole lot sold for $19,000. Think it was a good deal or over pay?

I had been watching it and I bid rather high, up to 13000+ with BP, and I thought it went for top market value. It ended up being around 22,000 with BP. In my mind, when purchasing, I thought on average the CB would be worth purchasing at 500$ a piece. Some rough ones in there with rather high pops, which would mean they're around 300$, but there were a few in there that had ZERO or ONE in the pop charts (Titus, Dunn, Lundgren, Mattern, Jack White etc). With recent back prices of low pop cards, I can see why any buyer may take a shot that there were 3 """""2000-4000$""""" cards in there... Though I think those prices represent market insanity, it may in fact be what the current market is.

Really was an incredible find regardless. 23 Carolina Brights??!?!?!?!

I was going to post something, and figured someone would have already posted --- and I was right!

I was waiting around to bid 5k, but it flew past that on the floor and internet bidders took it very high. It could not have gone to a dealer expecting to break it down for a profit.

I completely agree. I think MAX it was worth 20000 after costs/fees etc. That's why I bid 13k (I bid 11k, but with BP, it would have been over 13)

I was bidding there too for a while! Should be interesting to watch and see what happens if any end up on the market, especially the zeros on the pop charts.

I was the high at 2300 for four days. Was fun thinking I might get it for that.

That was quite insane. starting bid at $5K. Whoever bought this ridiculously overpaid by about $10k. Not sure what they were thinking but Bresnahan was a 2 at most and Bender maybe would fetch a 4. A 5 just sold for $3300 to one of top set builders. So on that note maybe I should have this auction house to sell my sets.

By the way every one of those cards were on the population charts.

Did anyone else notice how they changed the images a few times in the last month? I saved em before they took down the pictures of all of the backs. And oops I meant the price pop charts. Like Jack White (of the non-stripes variety), who they didn't even include in their list.

I noticed that too Kat, when I went today to look at the pictures again, I noticed they eliminated some pictures - including the scan with all the backs showing.

About a week ago, I think they only had 18 of the 23 Carolina Brights T206s listed.

Yes, definitely Jim. I checked that (using t206resource.com of course :D), and the only thing that would have been added were possibly some scans for some... heh heh. Had I won them, I would have definitely enjoyed sending an e-mail to Tim saying "Hey! I've got some scans for you to use if you want!"
