Hey Gang,
I am terrible at this and was wondering if you could help ID the two players from this 1914 Buffalo Federal League program.
Also, does it look the the negative was flipped on the batter, i.e. he is a right-handed batter?
Here is the roster: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/roster.php?y=1914&t=BUF
Thanks!

The batter looks like Clyde Engle, but if the negative is flipped, that wouldn't be correct. Unless I'm confused/backwards? Engle was a right handed batter, and the batter pictured would be left handed. Either way, he appears to have the same build as Engle.

The "image" displays a left handed batter, but since it's the negative, it's actually a right handed batter. But I'm not sure if that clears it up...

So then it could be Engle batting then? It certainly looks like his build.

I'd guess Russ Ford is the pitcher. He was Buffalo's top pitcher in 1913 and closet thing they had to a star.

Thanks for the responses. It really is tough since the photos are so fuzzy. There weren't really any big names on that team (Chase joined them later). Russ Ford would seem to make the most sense for the pitcher. Jimmy Delahanty might be the most prominent hitter on the team. Those pictures are so fuzzy, it is tough to tell...the printing is up to Federal League quality standards :D

Im not going to lie here but as Dummy Taylor collector for more than 20 years. This pitcher def have his facial and body without any question even though Taylor pitched for Buffalo in 1909-10. Do anyone have 1905-1913 Buffalo item that we might see that picture being used repeat?

That is very interesting. The batter is wearing the 1914 Buffalo road jersey, but the pitcher isn't wearing what Buffalo wore that year.

I agree that it could be Taylor. None of the Federal League teams wore a dark uniform in 1914, so the photo almost certainly came from some other league (though a 1913 Fed team is a possibility).
They are just drawings to me..and looks like the same face in both drawings.
Here's the 1914 Buffalo team photo
