Just picked up what I BELIEVE to be a program from the first NLCS ever, but need some help before I maybe sell it on here:)

I was looking at it, cover says National league Championship series, and the scorecard insert is for the Braves vs Mets. E'thing else tho is a program that would have been issued at START of 69 season, has 68 records/states, full 69 schedule, etc.

Is this common practice with this program or any year/team u guys know of? I know The 39 AS program is generic other than SC and a few others, but this one in particular is what Im mainly thinking of.

THANKS. Scott:)

Hi Scott,
Could you please post a scan or photos of this program, both the inside scorepage and outside cover?

I believe that I might be able to help.

Scott,
Thanks for posting the pictures. I thought I would be able to help. Here you go!

This scorebook is from the first NLCS Championship Series that was ever played in 1969. The first two games were actually played AT ATLANTA.
This scorebook is from the deciding game 3 that was played at Shea Stadium. HOF Nolan Ryan comes into the game in relief of Mets starter Gary Gentry in the 3rd inning. Ryan pitches 7 innings for the win and clinches the 1969 Miracle Mets' entrance into their 1st World Series as a franchise. Ryan Saves The Day!

Here is the complete play by play: from retrosheet.org:

You're welcome, Scott.
It looks like a nice scorebook, FWIW.
Good luck with finding it a new home! ;)

yeah, it has a horizontal fold, from where someone prob had it in their pocket, but its cool and I got it cheap. I may keep or sell. If it is for sale, it will be on the NET54 first. :)
