This really, really surprises me. I was very interesed in this card when it last sold on Legendary a year or so ago. The card has a very noticeable white spot near Matty's face, I called and spoke to someone at Legendary and he said that it was indeed paper loss. The eventual high bidder ultimately backed out of the deal, so I'm wondering now, why in the world is it not being disclosed??

"A clean example in Near Mint condition, qualified as noted."

Hmmm...

I agree, if that is indeed paper loss on the front, it ought to be noted in the item description. Whoever is going to pay a few thousand bucks for that card deserves to know that in advance.

It's just dandruff. Head and Shoulders should fix it.

Wow...that is SO shocking that PSA screwed up again...SO SHOCKING?!?! I thought they were the toughest grading co on the face of the earth?

The biggest question I have is not the screw up with PSA, but the lack of disclosure with Legendary Auctions.

Of course that's the only problem you have...PSA is great, right!

Not on this particular example....

Dave, you are right. If one auction went bad because of this a year ago, why in the world would Legendary not disclose it now? Whoever the new buyer is (with no knowledge about the paper loss), is probably going to back out of the deal like the first buyer, if he's fortunate enough to catch it. If he doesn't, how in the world is this right regarding Legendary? Where are the business ethics in this?? I wish someone could post a scan.

Likely an oversight.

I wish YOU could post a scan. When do you think you will learn to do that?

It all goes back to lack of transparency, right?

Thats not paper loss. Hell that a PSA 7-8 all day with paperloss if you crop those corners. Wouldn't be the first time they have done that now would it.

What is it then? I sent the seller a question asking if it was paper loss and never heard a response. Leading me to believe it was in fact paper loss.

Jake- PSA is still top dog, SGC not even close, this is on a major auction house that refused to acknowldege twice after admitting that it was paper loss! Nice ethics....

Yeah right they are going to risk what is left of their reputation for one run of the mill card. As i said likely an oversight.

Peter- not when a rep at Legendary said it was paper loss! the high bidder on the auction a year ago, is on the Net54 board. He even asked me about the card when he first won the auction....I listed a thread about high grade T206s with qualifiers, he contacted me after he won this card and I told him what Legendary said....He then called them and retracted his winning bid.

My O'Leary has a "scar" on his eye where Cobb spiked him in practice... But no paper loss...Hard to tell in the scan.

They offer a lot of cards not fair to expect an institutonal memory of one. Call them i bet they will address it.

In post 23 you said you had already spoke to someone before. Now you need to again to verify what was already told to you:confused:

The SGC card appears to have been rubbed. Paper loss would not allow the ink to remain in some areas.

It was a year ago when the card was first listed, thats when I inquired about the card. do you understand English? Tell you what, why don't you call Legendary and speak to someone about the card??

Look, let me make something perfectly clear. I am trying to protect any NET54 member from potentially making a bad mistake on this card. I love PSA, I praise them on this board (with alot of grief from most members). They are, and always will be, the King of the business. But, having said that, they are human and also make mistakes. If someone wishes to go forward and buy the card, go for it...But, call a rep and let them loupe that area that I am talking about....Other than that, have a good day....

I just received a message from the seller, he speculated that it was paper loss as well.
