I've seen it before a couple of times, but stumbled across this set while scouring the bay.. 2012 "a sign of history". It appears that almost EVERY one has a cut signature, that was cut from another signed card...

WOW! That makes no sense. Do a buy back program and just reinsert the cards with a border if you want to do some type of insert in the packs. It is strange to see cards produced in the 2000s with autos now cut up and just showing the crotch of the player with his signature.

For instance here is a 2008 card cut up for a 2012 release but now you don't get to see his face.http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2012-A-Sign-of-History-Paul-Demny-signed-auto-cut-signature-card-Washington-/00/s/MTE1Mlg4NjE=/$T2eC16N,!)!E9s2f!qCMBQ9(LLV03w~~60_57.JPG

The signature and placement kinda looks like c*** and b***s...

I love this signed cut of Mark Buehrle's a** http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sign-History-Mark-Buehrle-signed-auto-cut-signature-card-Toronto-/370730879281?pt=US_Autographed_Trading_Cards&hash=item5651484931

and this one of CJ Wilson's knee and forearm http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sign-History-C-J-Wilson-signed-auto-cut-signature-card-Los-Angeles-/370730877135?pt=US_Autographed_Trading_Cards&hash=item56514840cf

I actually went and checked out their website, and apparently they sell these exclusively through their ebay store.

I could understand if the just re-frame the cards, that might've been ok. BUT why turn every one of them on their side and slice them up?

That's the stupidest card I have ever seen. At least it wasn't a good card cut up. Worthless either way!

Looking further, there are some typical cuts from blank sheets or notecards. I think the frames are actually pretty sharp with some of those... Some of the cut selections aren't exactly ideal though.

I see that they took a very classy and aesthetically pleasing approach to removing personalizations..:eek: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sign-History-Bobby-Usher-signed-auto-cut-signature-card-Senators-/261141049841?pt=US_Autographed_Trading_Cards&hash=item3ccd3831f1

I sure as hope this was one of the reprints, and not an actual '71 Topps Ryan...

Cut up a perfectly good card of good value to create a hacked up monster of a card of lessor value makes sense to me. Oh I forgot, people go crazy over the 1/1 thing!

I will agree some of the SP Legendary Cuts cards are very nice with the clean autos from 3 x 5 cards bordered with a good photo and such but that '58 Topps diagonal cut one in the link is just pathetic. Who in their right mind would actually want to own that piece of crap? Again, worthless.

the blank frames are nice tho if the blank area is flat and not a frame. could be a nice replacement to getting index cards signed. some of those players they cut out and inserted aren't even worth the time and effort to put into those frames.

Agree completely Jesse. I thought the blank ones looked kinda cool.

I guess my main complaint aside from the cut-out selection and/or quality, is that these are made to look like an insert of some type. I have to ask what sort of authentication is going into them. And does the fact that they look like a legit insert, create a potentially false sense of authentication?

I once saw a 1993 Pinnacle DiMaggio certified autographed card cut up and used in one of those new cut-signature cards. I thought that was quite stupid. Those DiMaggio cards, while not hard to find, are very attractive and do have some value to them - cutting them up is just plain silly.

Just reinforces the notion that there is a buyer out there for just about anything. Hideous IMO.

Ridiculous. Nothing I'd ever want to own.
