This guy is possibly bidding on his own stuff, then when he doesn't get the price for an item he wants he just re-lists it. I've been watching him for awhile, doesn't has reserves, so that's not it, he gets bids, but then re-lists items...all the time. So be wary any time u see, u could be bidding against the house.

Paul,
FWIW, this may be a bad example of what you are trying to illustrate. Please look at the seat number on the two tickets. They're different seats! Actually, they're from adjoining seats right next to each other.

For the record, I know the seller DJ (David) Maus in Iowa. IMHO, he is one of the most knowledgeable sellers on eBay when it comes to ephemira. I have purchased items from him in the past with no issues.

sorry my mistake on the 2nd example, please explain the 1st example....and I wish I would have posted others in the past. I'll see what I can find.

That name sounds familiar to me..I'm fairly positive I have bought from him on ebay, but I went through his feedback and couldn't find any left for me or by me. Is this his only ebay account?

Don't take this the wrong way, but if he "gets bids, but then re-lists items...all the time", it should be easy to present more than 2 examples (1 thrown out already), and I think it would be a good idea for you to do so in order to back up your claim. Otherwise, this could simply be a case of a seller getting cold feet and ending the auction early (with a little over 3 hours to go), then re-listing. Not a great practice, but in my opinion, also not something to worth crucifying him in a public forum. If it is as widespread as you say, that would change things, but would require more than this 1 example to prove.

And this may sound odd, but did you consider asking DJ the reason for the item being re-listed?

U could be right on the ending auctions early thing. Maybe that is what he does alot of. I did not think of that. My error. Either way I recall it happening 2 or 3 times in Oct and now again late in Jan. I'm going to keep watching and will post when it occurs again.

And no I am not contacting him, don't want to hear some BS answer. I know this has happened at least 3, 4 maybe 5 times in the past few months. So something is rotten.

That's how I know him. I have either bought from him or he has bought from me. Either way I don't recall having any problems.

I just returned from a 5 day business trip and haven't logged on to net54 in a few days.

FWIW, I did hear back from the seller David Maus. Here is what he said:

I listed that program he (Paul) uses for an example before I actually received it (stupid) and since I never got it, I ended the listing early before it sold to someone last night. it looks like someone bid at 14:11:38 at exactly the same time I ended at 14:11:38 which is super weird but it ended up in my unsold items with a bid. so never seen that happen before but thats what happened. then I started another listing for it in hopes that I receive it before next sunday night. if you had time to point out bid time and auction end time, I obviously couldnt end my auction and bid on it at the exact same time. again, thanks.--dj
