Leon started a thread ~3 weeks ago about Crazy Zeenut prices, looking at prices of two Zeenut with coupons that popped over $400- each on Ebay.
There was a spate of non-couponed Zeenuts that got pretty aggressive prices over the last forty-eight hours on Ebay as well:
This Lot (http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p2047675.l2565&rt=nc&item=321047456301) with two Earl Averill rookies, went for $1,000. Those hoping that a spelling error in the title would deter bidders were wrong.
This lot (http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-1925-Zee-Nut-baseball-cards-ODoul-Ryan-Crane-Allison-Thompson-Perry-Sacto-S-F-/321047459443?item=321047459443&ViewItem=&nma=true&si=yxjrnPHcHFLOrnNJw59VE6IClxI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) with a Lefty O'Doul with a penned face on the back commanded nearly $300-
This lot (http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-1925-Zee-Nut-baseball-cards-Crandall-Frederick-Lazzeri-Tobin-Hoffman-ODoul-LA-/221170778671?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item337ece422f&nma=true&si=yxjrnPHcHFLOrnNJw59VE6IClxI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) with a really beat up Lazzeri and another O'Doul fetched $449-
Finally, this lot, with a third O'Doul (http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-1925-26-Zee-Nut-baseball-cards-ODoul-Prothro-Ponder-Elsh-Ennis-Beck-Portland-/221170780014?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item337ece476e&nma=true&si=yxjrnPHcHFLOrnNJw59VE6IClxI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) from the same seller, fetched $287 -- showing a strong and consistent demand for the O'Doul cards across all three auctions.
Incidentally, all of these strong finishes were via snipe. The Averill auction was at $67- on the day of the auction, and at less than $200- in the final three minutes, before at least six snipers participated (and a few additional people shut out, based upon the timing of their snipes)
