As a type collector I buy all kinds of things. Sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss. The dollar amount of risk weighs into what I do. For a $20 item I am not going to fall out of my chair if it is not what I think it is. For a $2000 item I will fall out of my chair if the item is bad. Fortunately, I don't risk that much too often. So anywho, I tried looking this up but just can't seem to identify it anymore than what the ebayer said. I checked the 1931 Cubs Picture Pack as it looked very close but it's a different pose. Any ideas? I think it might just be a 1930s Premium :) ....in quite poor condition (which is ok by me).

Leon.

I'm no help with an ID for it but nice pick up for $20 for a Hornsby.

I haven't seen this Hornsby before, but it certainly reminds me of the team issued photo sets which I'd personally seen back in the '60's--wouldn't be much of a leap of faith to think the same thing was being used in the 30's!

Best of luck, Leon, in finding the answer!

Thanks Mark. What threw me off on this one is that most of the pictures in that pack have that little lightning bolt/wavy design around the players feet areas. This one, since it's a portrait from the set, doesn't. I think all things considered I might have paid $5 too much. Much appreciated on the id.
