Just wondering thoughts on this card. I collect mostly 50's-70's baseball so I know very little about the T206 cards. Is this a reprint or real?
Thanks-
Claude

Looks like there's a printer mark in the right border.

Is there ever a premium for printers marks like that? I have an Ed Walsh with a couple of those and always wondered about it.

Not usually. They're actually there on mant T206s. Most aren't that obvious, but they're commonly found at the center of each side, and in each color. They're remnants from when a larger mark has been erased after layout. Some were done very well, some quite a bit was left.

Nice card, Can't say for sure if it's trimmed. A couple spots look like they might be, but the scan doesn't have enough detail to be sure. (It is a nice scan, better than most.)

If the price wasn't an EX price I think I'd go for it. Certainly much better than the average "A" grade, and with better looks than most VG cards.

Sometimes - depends on the buyer, the player/card and how prevalent the marks. It doesn't triple the value or anything along those lines. But there are definitely some collectors out there who seek out printer marks and are willing to pay a few extra bucks for them.

So, what should I expect to pay for a Cobb in this condition? Again, not too familiar with the older Tobacco cards.

Here's mine -- raw -- plucked with my own hand in the sixties prior to TPGers.
Hope this helps (not bragging or showing off, just for the sake of the trimming question).

Thanks Jason,

I was thinking the same thing. Some would pay a small premium over the same card without the print lines, but it wouldn't be dramatic.

Best,
