Don't know what happened, we swept the Yankees, now we are getting swept by the Giants. Our pitching has been great the last 2 games, but no hitting. Damn!!!

I think it's more due to the fact the Giants can pitch, than Tigers not hitting. You guys have some ridiculous bats including a triple crown.. But just like the 2010 Rangers experienced, the Giants (while they may not have one single Verlander ace) have a very deep starting staff and as deep a bullpen. Baseball is quickly morphing back to pitchers duals and small ball.

To add- in no way wantin to start a fan war, just very happy leaving the sports bar.. I have a freaking T205 Ty Cobb as my phone screen saver

As bad as the Tigers have looked, I want to give the Giants more credit for what they have done. The defensive plays they made tonight were outstanding. Some were not crazy plays, but they simply made almost every play they had a chance to. The Giant's pitchers get credit for what they have done, but there really isn't an excuse for the Tigers performance so far. They are simply dead right now. Hopefully they can make a series of it by hitting in game four, but somehow I doubt it :(

Is Lincecum back???

Giants D has been great. They actually started the year horribly, but were nails down the stretch and have been amazing in the postseason. Little things like Belt's stretch on the 1st double play may go little noticed, but are so big. Even Bumgarner in game two, taking an extra second, then throwing a strike to 2nd to start a DP as opposed to firing the ball into the bag like Lynn did. Blanco has had a great series too. Two diving catches in game one.. The magic bunt in game two.. The big triple and Sandy Amoros style catch in game 3.

Timmy is a more interesting story. He earns a start through stellar bullpen work.. Does what he did all year in his start.. Then is unhittable again out of the ben. It's funny because many teams that passed on him, did so becaue they only thought he thrive as a closer. He will begin next year in the rotation, but it makes you wonder if his longterm future may be as closer-- shades of young Eck.

I'm with ya, Ian. It seems like everyone on the Giant's squad is chipping in. Some of them making small contributions, while some HUGE contributions. Sandoval cracks three homers in game one and Blanco makes two great catches, pitching has been stellar (starters and the pen), defense has been great...this team can do no wrong through three games. It's like it took them two playoff series to find their identity and they are very comfortable with who they are and now they are playing like champions. I want the Tigers to make a series of it, but I've caught myself a few times just repeating "nice play" for the Giants on the defensive side...gotta appreciate good baseball.

Nearly flawless through game 3, let's see what game four brings....

We've come a long way in a short time Mike:D I love it! Good baseball is universal. I also understand your and anyone's want for a good series, but after seeing some silly comebacks in the earlier rounds, I can't echo that sentiment ;)

It might be best for the Giants to just put the Tigers out of their misery  I thought this was the last game for the Tigers to make a series of it...so I think you're right...Giants should just close the door now and do everyone a favor.

While I was watching them announce the Giants' starting lineup last night I was amazed at how unimposing the starters are. A bunch of mismatched spare parts, late season trades, run of the mill hitters, and other than Posey no real stars. Really, the only thing these guys know how to do is win.

I can't stop laughing at the Tigers. We thought the yankees hitters were bad, but I think the tigers look worse.

Mismatched parts seemed to match pretty well.

Go Giants!!!!

Something does not smell right in this World Series who would have thought Giants in 4 straight sweep before it began and what was the odds of this happening in the Vegas casinos and who made big wager's on this. New something was up in first game when Verlander had big smile on his face when 4 runs behind and pitching coach comes out to talk to him. Just does not work for me.

Sorry but that's total BS. Verlander/Prince/Cabrera would be beyond moronic to risk their respective fortunes and careers to throw a WS.

As a Giants fan, I'm trying hard not to allow the slights and doubters (mostly in national media) to annoy me.. But it gets annoying when everyone outside the area seems to stretch for explanation and qualify anything good this team does.. WS win(s) included. Between the "all they did was get hot at the right time", "Tigers had a long layoff", "giants got all lucky breaks/bounces", "(instert team name) just stopped hitting"... And now the Tigers threw the WS??? Some or many of the qualifying events are valid but no one wins a series without a nice break or two. Breaks do not offset the fact that the Giants are a damn good team. They've done it the right way... they're full of homegrown talent (6 draftees in last nights lineup alone, and 4 of our 5 starting pitchers), and they played their asses off. That and granted a few breaks are why they came back 0-2, 1-3 in succession and then swept this series.

Congrats SF Giants, you earned this!! Maybe after 1 or 2 more people will stop questioning so much.

Congrats to the SF Giants and their fans, they played well and deserved to win. I can only hope the Tigers will get another chance with the current cast and show up come WS. 1984 is such a distant memory now.

Thank you!! Tigers have some good years ahead.. That core is still in it's prime.

After hoping and suffering for so long and finally in 2010... and now I can't believe the Giants won again so soon... :) and amazingly the starting eight only had one starter back in Buster Posey... the core of the pitching staff was back though and they came up big again at just the right time with timely hitting and defense... kudos to the Tigers though for a great season...they have a great classy manager and killer players...

I waited nearly fifty years to finally see the Giants win a World Series. Who would have guessed I would get another one two years later? They played with a lot of heart and they found a way to win every game they needed. Everything they did seemed to work. What a pleasure it has been to watch these guys.

SF outplayed Det in every facet of the game. Their fundamentals were refreshing complared to lack of them from my team, the Tigers. Their pitching came thru, their hitters were not intimidated the slighest and their manager pushed the right buttons throughout the WS. My team's all or nothing hitting, lack of patience, lack of adjustments was very bothersome, but SF outplayed us in every game = sweep. Enjoy it...1984 seems like a different life time.
