I recently finished reading the book "59 in '84" which details Charles Radbourn's incredible 1884 season for Providence where he went 59-12* and pitched nearly every day the last half of the season. The book is absolutely outstanding, rich in detail, not just about Radbourn but baseball in general from that time period. Lots of great little tidbits about what it was like to attend games back then (one communal beer mug for patrons who drank?!?!) I highly recommend picking it up to anyone with an interest in ancient baseball history.

To help with that, I'm giving away my copy of the book to the first person to reply to this thread saying they want it. I'll even pay to ship it :)

Anybody else read it? Thoughts?

* - As a kid, I remember reading about Radbourn's 1884 and his record being 60-12. Those numbers stuck in my head. I know his official total was changed a few years back and the book goes into some detail about the game that got changed. I will say that, after reading the explanation, I don't see why it got changed. Besides, 60 just sounds better than 59. :)
