Any thoughts on this - a fdc with the original inductee class of the BBHOF:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-11-H-O-F-1939-FDC-BABE-RUTH-TY-COBB-WALTER-JOHNSON-HONUS-WAGNER-PSA-9-/170890164434?pt=US_Autographs&hash=item27c9d8f8d2

It does come with a PSA/DNA cert and free shipping. For that price though, it better have a roof and a front door.

Why would this seller be selling something like this???

Everything else he's selling is super high quality, legit (if somewhat overpriced) stuff. I mean... for 5k I could buy a mediocre Ruth ball, don't know why anybody would be messing around with a dozen Gary Carters for that kind of money. The only thing I see wrong with the FDC is that it's probably worth like fifteen percent of what he's asking.

Some of these have been offered up in some major auctions in the past. I do recall that many of the autographs we're not thought to be real, FWIW.

Do a little digging and I believe that there was a previous thread on net54 that discussed this topic...

His pricing is unusual to say the least.
Many of his prior sales seem to be nail trimmers for dogs.
A natural flow from dog nail trimmers to autographs :D.

Based on his other recent auctions (active and closed), my guess is this guy just purchased these from another collection where the previous owner had an emphasis on the first Hall of Fame class.

Appears this particular item sold in a Heritage auction last year for $56K+:

I think the piece that Scott was referring to is "analyzed" in a Hauls of Shame piece (vigrous Spence and Heritage bashing included) so take it FWIW:

I'd really be worried if his prior sales were a bunch of vintage fountain pens...

Wow ! Wonder why its so cheap $165,000 ??? For another $100,000 I could get one of these (house not included), decisions, decisions..

On second thought ...if I bought it for $165,000 and sold it for $465,00..I would STILL be able to buy the car and have enough left over to take my family to "The Olive Garden" for dinner !

Just a little "fix-er-up" with a "sea-meant" pond ...but a great view of the new nuclear power plant

I just made a comment about the house because it said not included.
