So, I purchased this off a guy in the B/S/T and have done a relatively extensive search, and can't find ANY info about it. I have several notebooks with Cobb, Matty, etc on the cover, but this was the first one like this I have seen. It is complete AND tightly bound, although used by a child, and dated 1915.

Anyone else have any info about this series???

Nice pickup Greg. I had emailed the owner about buying it a few weeks ago as well, guess that's why I never heard back! :-)
I tried to research it quite a bit too, and couldn't find anything on it either. Curious to see what others think.

Thanks Jeff. It really is a cool piece. Looks like some kind of schoolgirl's work inside, spelling, geography, language. I love these things as it is a piece of "someone's" history :D

I, too, am curious to see other's thoughts here.

There are quite a few of these notebooks that turn up that almost seem like one of a kind. I had never seen this one before I picked it up a few years ago. Like postcards, they seem much more interesting "used". I'm guessing the players weren't paid any licensing fee.

I really like these types of notebooks. I've had a few over the years, this is the only one I have now. It is not unique, I have seen 1 or 2 others.

Neat piece Bob! Love how they chose to show Honus from behind :D

I made some Business cards with that picture. PM me your address and I'd be happy to send you a few.

I think these composition notebooks are really cool (and under-valued!). Here are the 3 that I have.

Greg, if you would like to have the Sisler notebook as a companion piece to go with your Jackson notebook, perhaps we can work a deal - please email me at ekehl333@aol.com. Beings as I am a WaJo collector, the WaJo notebooks are absolutely unavailable!
Best,
Val

Great notebooks everyone, especially Greg...incredible collection. I also feel that these collectibles don't quite get the love, but then again that may not be a bad thing.;)

Here are a couple I don't think have been posted yet...

Here is one of mine...I know there is at least one other Crack Battery with Matty out there but have never seen another Alexander/Dooin. Love it as it is a very early picture of Grover.

Wow. These are really beautiful items. They have the extra added bonus of being used and loved by a kid back then. For me, that is an extra level of special as it really adds a great connection to the past.
I see Greg posted Ruth in a Yankees uniform. Does anyone know if there is a Gehrig?
BTW, in what range do these usually sell?
Thanks,
Mark
