Only 45 decimal places of pi? That's the best you can do? The next five after that are 37511.

f(x) = ax^3+bx^2+cx+d

find a,b,c,d so that the function has a local maximum at f(-1) = 2 and has a local minimum at f(1) = -1

a = 0.75
b = 0

a = 0.75
b = 0
c = -2.25
d = 0.5

So,

f(x) = 0.75(x^3)+0(x^2)-2.25x+0.5

(Yes, I did the calculations myself)

Best Regards and Happy Collecting :)

You have to remember that the board consists mostly of lawyers, not theoretical physicists, so very few members realize that is Planck's constant.

Best Regards,
Craig (BS Chemical Engineering, Univ of Kansas, 1986) :)

You meant Plank as in Eddie, right? I didn't know he had a constant.
