Unfortunately, the Scoreboard COA has been tainted by the fact that they have been reproduced in the thousands to sell forgeries. From my own personal observation, at least 50% of Mantle autographs with a Scoreboard COA are forgeries.

There's a dirtbag down in Florida who has reproduced the Scoreboard COA to sell his forgeries. The guy is a real dirtbag!!!!

Some idiot tried to sell me a forged Babe Ruth autograph with a Scoreboard COA.
I gave him the award for the biggest idiot I have ever met in the hobby.
The company themselves was fine, it is just that the dirtbags found it easy to fake their certs.

In addition to the fact the certs were easily copied, the other problem is real Scoreboard certs can be matched up with fake items. There was nothing tying the cert to the item.

I think Scoreboard the company itself was legit

I can only tell you this about Scoreboard. Years ago I bought a Hank
Aaron jersey on a QVC type show from Scoreboard and a pair of
Alli shorts signed. Both have since been graded by PSA and they are
100% authentic. I guess you have to know if the person acquired them
originally or what. I do think they were a good company as far as being
honest.
