I recently found these court papers from the Eckes/Beckett vs CPU decision.
I knew all parties concerned in the formative days of the hobby. I was actually Mark Lewis' point man for CPU in Massachusetts.
The hobby forever changed with the first Beckett/Eckes book, however, the appearance of the monthly CPU (first BB then FB) had a huge impact.
Let me make it perfectly clear that I like all parties concerned and consider them friends. RIP Denny Eckes and God Bless Jim Beckett, Mark Lewis and Warren Karp. I'm actually going to admit these gentlemen were role models and I looked up to them as a young man.
Here's the link. I'd like to hear member's recollections and opinions. For better or worse, this case had a major impact on the hobby's development.
Thanks and enjoy,
Bill Hedin
