This guy has a few strips up, no commons. They look funny to me, you can see a dot pattern into the borders on this Hornsby.

I would appreciate board member opinions before I persue this.

thanks
dan

honestly...at first glance the hornsby looks just wierd...and the stock also seems odd...but I'm not 100% sure?!

Writing shouldn't be blue. (though this Gowdy at bottom is missing ink pass(es) so it gets a pass:)) Yuck for the ebay one!!!

1- I think it's a fake. I don't think that's from a reprint set, I think someone scanned a real one and printed some off with a pc and printer.

2- The top border has a bit of an edge there where it looks imperfectly printed.

3- I think that card will fluoresce.

4- On the upside, he does offer a return policy....

I think the card in question was printed with a laser printer from an original. At first I thought it was a moire pattern from a scanner but look at the white areas on the edges as compared to the unprinted borders of the card; a scanner-created pattern would appear everywhere.

One slight correction to some of the posts above: the Universal Matching Series cards in their various permutations are sometimes found with blue rather than black ink. Holds true for the analogous W529s as well.

The paper stock is wrong as well...does not look right on the scan.
