My best find was a 1933 O-Pee-Chee hockey album full of cards as placed there some 75 years ago. This album was found in the attic of a small house someone had just purchased.

Unfortunately for me, I was new to the hobby and never purchased them not relizing a find like this is once in a lifetime.

Mine was a lot of around 100 T206's, almost all HOF'ers in great shape, that I picked up from a fellow board member about 8 years ago. They were all raw, from a fresh collection. I think there were 4 Matty black caps, plus a few amazing T205's. It was part of a much larger find that never got much attention, since it wasn't found by a big-name dealer :)

Hard to believe it's been 8 yrs ago but far and away my best "find" was from a guy in California, Bob Smith (seriously). He inherited from his grandfather after his grandmother passed away....here is a brief recap.

I believe I have seen the last small group of inherited cards from the gentleman in Northern California. It was a very informative situation
in that I got to see a nice PCL collection untainted by modern collectors/dealers. It looks like almost all of the cards have been put into a scrapbook at one time as a majority exhibit strong corners and
back damage, though many backs were spared too....... It was neat to see how they were really collected and in what type of numbers, relative to each other. I believe the only cards I missed out on were all 159 of the Colgans, Red Borders, and Tin Tops (if any), and about 5-7 M101-1/2's....Nothing I could do...they just got sold.......The total for all of the cards I got was about 732'ish. I will probably only sell these through ebay or to a large auction house. I am keeping everything I have an interest in, as utmost and foremost, I am still a collector. Including what I had posted before the grand total breakout is/was (several cards have been sold already to happy board/ebay members):

Taking the cue from a board member, I tracked down reknowned autograph collector Jeff Morey to ask him about his experiences. Turned out he still had 20 autographed T205 and T206 cards, including two Wheats. And one of the cards was an immaculate T206 Doyle portrait that SGC graded an 80. Really amazing stuff! Wish THAT would happen again.....

But the best part really is that I now correspond regularly with Jeff about autographs and the hobby. The "find" of information and knowledge and stories and experiences has been equally as satisfying as landing the cards.

Unfortunately, I can't contribute with any of my own "find" stories (yet). But with that said, I love hearing about what you guys have come across.

Great stories so far guys! And Leon, I secretly try to bait you into telling find stories every time we have a chance to chat at card shows. I can't get enough of them!
