After looking on Ebay today, I found a t206 John Frill American Beauty 460. The card was graded a 2, while on the front it is missing a large amount of paper. I have PSA 2's that should be graded 3's and 4's, something doesn't seem right here.

Here is the link to the card: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T206-American-Beauty-460-John-Frill-PSA-2-GOOD-Only-PSA-Graded-/190695226884?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item2c66523e04

Yeah, I noticed that one too. Really awfully assignment of a grade to that card. So many 2's get the designation simply for rounded corners, and this one has major paper loss and also rates as GOOD. Where's the quality control?

Exactly! PSA is just not my company to grade with. That's why I truly enjoy SGC, because they take the time to designate a 2 from a 3. And for sure, that card would be a 1-1.5 if it were SGC graded.

I think the seller is a member here. You have to appreciate his honesty in the description, "Please pay attention to the condition of front."

I don't think that SGC would give that card a 1.5 grade once if it was submitted 1,000 times.

Nothing against the seller, I read the description, and I am happy to see he is an honest member. I am just trying to point out PSA's grading job, and how it seems to not be up to par here. Thank you.

Maybe PSA thought the missing paper was a tumbleweed?

Yeah, you're probably right, SGC would have given that 1 on any day.

Well the reason why It's significant is because It's an American Beauty 460 back. So in this case, a good amount.

In the grand scheme of misgraded wagners and planks...this is insignificant...

Peter- i'm with you on this one. It's a 2 for crying out loud! Stop the presses......Yes, probably should be a 1, but, holy cow!

Well pardon me then. I mean It's not like any of can afford those cards, rather let's focus on what we can.

I'm confused. At which grade is it okay to overlook PSA mistakes and at which grade should we be concerned?

Well look at it this way Peter. You and Kevin agree that this is something not significant but with him being 15 there is going to be many yrs ahead of him calling out stuff. Maybe he thinks if the card was a Pied 25 or SC back that it would have been graded a 1 but with the AB 460 it got a higher graded thus inflating the market with yet another inaccurately graded card that will have a flip collector paying more than its worth.

Wazoo don't be discouraged. You get flack from some and not others but I guarantee if you need help with something that most of the guys on this board would bend over to help out. Glad to see a young collector on here.

Maybe PSA figured that anyone interested in the card, would be buying it solely for the back, and the back does look like a 2..... ;)

I agree though, that card should've been graded a 1 at the most.

Thank you. That's all how I viewed it. I mean, yes there are grading issues that call for a lot more attention, but I still believe this is important. Each card makes up the set, regardless of value and scarcity. And Pup, thank you for the heads up. I expected it eventually, but that's what makes these forums interesting.

I certainly didn't mean to belittle the situation... but with so many mistakes that PSA makes it's just like beating a dead horse over and over and over again. So to me pointing out one additional error by PSA is insignificant.

Very understandable.

Wazoo, I couldn't agree with you more about the mess up. I know every TPG messes up but these are inexcusable. No matter what the value of the card is, the mistake is worth exploiting.

Also, I wanted to wish you well in your future endeavors...seems like you have a bright cardboard collecting future ahead of you!

fastest way to get accepted into n54 is to start a t206 or psa suck thread...congrats on accomplishing both!

@Freakhappy, thank you, and enjoy your journey as well. I just feel that these types of mistakes should be easily caught. Maybe cards that are borderline, alright that's fine, just send the card for regrading. I don't want to hate of PSA or anything, I know they are a good company, but after reviewing my collection today, I have realized that they have missed many proper grades.
