Hi,

I recently picked up the pictured 1916 panoramic with the Chicago White Sox pictured. I'd love to get some help on ID's of players on here - I know Shoeless Joe is at the left end, but as far as other ID's, the White Sox aren't my specialty.

If anyone would be able to provide some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
Scott

Isn't that Collins, the 6th player from the extreme left?
It looks somewhat like him to me, FWIW...

Thanks guys, appreciate the help. The photo was taken on August 9, 1916 - I'm trying to find a boxscore of the game to see if Collins played that day. Baseball Reference "only" goes back to 1918.

Here's the scan of the 6th guy from the left, blown up a bit - let's see if this helps....

I think that's Eddie Collins, but I would appreciate OP's thoughts...

According to retrosheet.org Boston won 3-1 over the White Sox that day. Also states that Eddie Collins played in 155 games that year, so i would say he must have played in that game.

Awesome, guys - thanks very much so far (and an extra big thanks to ErikV)!

I edited the pics and added names for the players whom you've been able to identify for me - if anyone disagrees or has any additional info, please chime in, as this has been extremely helpful!

Interesting about Ed Walsh - he only pitched 3 innings for the White Sox in 1916, and ended his career after a short stint with the Braves in 1917. It looks like he felt his arm was dead and wanted the year off, but made a brief appearance then was released by Charlie Comiskey. I wonder if this pic captures the time right around his last game with the White Sox.

Other guys who played more than just a coupule of games for the 1916 White Sox (and not yet identified) are:

Ray Schalk
Jack Fournier
Zeb Terry
Jack Ness
Jack Lapp
Fritz Von Kolnitz
Red Faber
Reb Russell
Mellie Wolfgang
Dave Danforth

Thanks Sean - sounds good to me, so I'll go with your 99%+ thoughts there. I updated my names on the pics (sorry for bad Photoshop skills).

If anyone has any other thoughts on any of it, it would be most appreciated....
