A lot about this one has me scratching my head. This AGS company has taken pains to make their slab look like PSA/DNA's, and what the hell is "2009 The Autograph Card"? Why sell this in a 24 hour auction on ebay?

I don't know Mathewson's auto very well, but I'm guessing that this is merely a copy of a real check, with a lot done to doll it up.

It is now removed. Certainly AGS is not on ebay's list.

Sorry I missed this one.
A suggestion for next time, capture a screen shot of the questionable item or auction so we can see it.

I will try. I don't recall seeing an AGS slab before, but it was a dead ringer for PSA/DNA's blue flip.

Too funny: a quick search for AGS Authentication brings up no company website, but the only related hit was a thread on these very boards (seems to be happening to me more and more).

What gets me about the one I posted above is that it was a cut from a check made to look like a major company made the cut card, and that this company (AGS, or hopefully confused with PSA if you didn't look too closely) authenticated and slabbed it. Looked slick from top to bottom for sure.

Of course, I now know why it was only a 1 day auction...

I'm not sure what was wrong with the link above, but the cut is still listed, eBay item #300712615280. Just go to eBay and put that item # in the search field.

Thanks Lance.
Wow, what a crock that is.

.

This forum is supplying a lot of information to collectors who are not even regulars here. That is why the posts about CC every month and all the other seemingly redundant posts are important.

Just in case it goes missing again:

This is the seller's store who makes and manufactures those cards:

They do have legit auto's, I have no experience to say anything about the Mathewson.

Looks like its a custom card someone made in their basement. The slab is definitely made to look like a PSA blue flip.
