Does anyone on the board have any idea what a 1962 Willie Mays Auravision records is worth (stats through 1961)? All I can find are the '64 version (stats through 1963).

Thanks!

Thanks Steve. Is that price for the '62 version that only has states through 1961? I was always under the impression the "stats through 1961" version was incredibly tough to find.

Appreciate the help.

I don't know much about the '62's.According to the price guide the '62's were a test set. There are 8 players on the '62's and 16 on the '64's.i hope that helps.

Thanks guys.

Roger - as to those auctions, although they are being sold as "1962" Mays records, they are actually 1964. The backs of each record list stats for both the 1962 and 1963 seasons, which couldn't be possible on a 1962 record.

I know very little about the records, but as Steve alluded to above, the 62 issue was a test (I believe), and the true '62 mays record with stats only through 1961 is supposed to be incredibly rare and seldom seen. I have the opportunity to purchase one, but wasn't sure of the current market values.

For what it's worth, the SCD (2008 Edition) lists the '64 Mays at $75. As mentioned previously, the '62 is listed at $50. For the '64 Auravision Records, SCD claims the "Mays record is unaccountably much scarcer than the others." Based on a comparison of the values (e.g., $15 for '62 commons and $6 for '64 commons, $100 for '62 Mantle and $25 for '64 Mantle, etc.) one could definitely argue that the '62s are scarcer than the '64s.

Thanks guys. No apologies necessary. I searched eBay first too and was excited to see them, until I realized they were just mis-labeled 1964s...
