I know to some of you this may be a dumb question.

Too me this card seems like a fake.

I do not know anything about this issue, except what I found in my research after running across it. All the stains and marks look exactly the same as one that sold a couple of years ago in an SGC 50 holder, but the cut is different making me assume this is a fake. I didn't know if there were other tell-tell signs that this was a fake. The seller states that it is original and authentic.

Here is the other one that sold a couple years ago that I was comparing to:

not a dumb question at all...at first look...I thought it was real...BUT...after looking at the other one...I say fake...the stains are too exact on both...and the stock and type looks a little off...I'd stay away!

Plus, the corners are all "perfectly" rounded, the same exact shape on all corners. I almost like the look of the rounded corners one lol, just the slabbed one, looks so white, but doubt it was cracked out etc.

I have to admit, without seeing the other card in a holder, it almost had me fooled. I was watching this auction...

I really was looking for other signs that it was fake, but without larger scans I couldn't blow it up. I was watching it also.

Again, I don't know the set. So I was comparing a lot of other scans I could find online and this card from Heritage Auctions is the only other card that I found with the wet sheet transfer and all the stains. Since it matched up so well I figured it was a fake.

I wasn't sure if this card was fake, but the Cobb that the same seller is selling is most definitely fake, and the Gehrig looked fake also. Therefore, that was too much risk for me.

The back of the card is what looks fake. It has the fuzzy, blurred appearance like some fake W515's have had. The statement the seller made about not being a card grader led me to believe he or she knows they're fake.

They do say it is original & authentic in the Q&A area so they are no longer just passing it on out of ignorance. If they don't know they should state so at least that is honest.

I am quite sure it's an honest mistake and they just didn't know. I just spoke (on the phone) to a very nice lady, the seller, and she is calling their ebay guy to have it pulled. All is well that ends well.

They never ended the auction and let it finish through. If it would have been real it was a steal at $710.

The lady I spoke with, Stacy, seemed sincere about wanting to know it was not real and so forth. She told me she would get it taken down. They will just have to deal with it on the back end as the new owner finds out they have been scre***. All we can do is try.
