Here's your chance:

BIN of $5K, but won't take less than $70K !?!?! (http://www.ebay.com/itm/SELLING-ENTIRE-130-PIECE-RARE-VINTAGE-BASEBALL-MEMORABILIA-COLLECTION-/260962414916?pt=Vintage_Sports_Memorabilia&hash=item3cc2927144#ht_2959wt_1184)

This is great stuff - not great at math, but seems to like numbers:

PRICE FIRM. I KNOW IT SAYS STARTING BID 1000 AND BUY NOW PRICE 5000. THAT IS BECAUSE MY LIMITS TO SELL ARE BELOW 10000. BUT I WONT ENTERTAIN ANY OFFERS BELOW 70,000, BECAUSE THE ENTIRE COLLECTION OF BASEBALL MEMORABILIA HAS BEEN VALUED OVER THE YEARS AT MORE THAN 150,000, AND SURE TO APPRECIATE MORE IN THE FUTURE. THAT IS WHY I HAVE THE SHIPPING COSTS AT 65,000.

Yeah, I saw that. Ebay may nail him for his "shipping cost".

That might be one of the most winding and convoluted descriptions, on ebay, I have had the pleasure trying to decipher. I have a strong feeling that some of what she is selling are reprints and knock-offs too. And the $65,000 for shipping pretty much seals the deal. Someone needs to grab that sucker before it gets away!!

What a steal!!! I hope that the shipping is insured and comes with delivery confirmation, that's make or break for me

I like the fact that the $65K is for "economy shipping."

There was a thread about this seller about a month ago. Back then, they had two different eBay auctions going for the same material. In those different listings there were many photos of the items they were trying to sell.

I went through those photos and saw what to me looked like a bunch of junk. Newspaper pages which they had estimated values of $300 or more dollars, posters. signs and other material that were either fantasy pieces, reprints or reproductions which you can find quite often on eBay, etc.

In short, there might be some real material in the lot, there might be some good material in the lot but from what I saw, there wasn't much real good material in the lot.

What I'm wary of he that he writes the items were "lovingly acquired." What does that mean? Sounds kind of gross.

Will she do local pick up for $35k? Everyone needs a break in this economy.

Pete, I'd be happy to drive down and get it for you for $10K and ship it to you free. You'd still be $20K ahead! :p
