I clicked on the link to find out what a Wabash Cannonball is and why was Dean 'signing' it. Could it be an old baseball? His favorite mitt? A well worn bat? It turns out that I misread the post and it was a pleasant surprise to hear that Ole Dizz could sing pretty well too. Still entertaining the masses into 2012...and Hee Haw takes me back a few. Thanks for posting friend.

Thanks for the link. I remember Dizz singing that song on I believe a Monday night baseball game over the PA system. I used to love listening to him in the broadcast booth, a very entertaining character to be sure.

I remember watching him announce when i was a boy and thinking that he
really got into Wabash after the stretch and a few too many Falstaff commercials---and Falstaffs.
He and pee wee reese were great together.

Hee Haw reruns are the highest rated shows on RFD-tv. It's on Directv and perhaps on cable systems.

Dizzy Dean was on a couple of times. They also have had Mickey Mantle and a very young Johnny Bench with a bad mustache, some outrageous pants, and even a segment where he sings.

Good stuff. Hee Haw is like wearing an old comfortable shirt.
