Is there already a thread going about the new reality show, All Star Collectors? I thought for sure it would be a topic of discussion here already.

I like seeing our hobby on tv, and enjoy seeing the memorabilia shown. What I dont enjoy is the brashness of the "characters" on the show. I know their driving force is money, but the show makes the hobby look like pure greed.

"All-Star Dealers".

Anyways, yes we had a thread going last week.

The reviews for the most part have been pretty close to yours...

I'm wondering how long until it turns into a full out ad, with the auctions taking place after the episodes air?

I saw the episode last night with the Nolan Ryan "rookie jersey" from 1968. Did you guys see how they "authenticated" it?

They found a picture on the internet of Ryan wearing the jersey in 1968 and since the "R" in "NEW YORK" had a "dent" at the top of the "R" in the picture and the jersey they had in hand also had a "dent" in the same spot, they decided then that that was the exact same jersey and BAM.....a match.

Are you kidding me?

I'm sure they used more matching points than that one...I'm also sure they probably had provenance beforehand from the consignor, but they have to make it seem like they are finding needles in haystacks.
