The generally accepted date of issue for this set has always been 1925 but the below team photo card (sorry for the subpar scan) from the NY Yankees set was taken at the end of the 1923 season.

Based on this info, would it be more likely that this set was produced in early 1924 rather than 1925 or would it make sense to use a two year old team photo?

I'm sorry to contradict your post.

Although the team picture may be from 1923, the set more likely than not is from 1925 as evidenced by the inclusion of Ben Paschal in the individual player photos. Paschal played in four games in 1924 with twelve at bats and three hits. He was not on the 1923 Yankees team.

Thank you for the input. Based on your example of Paschel, he did not joing the Yanks until mid-September, 1924 so extremely unlikely that the set would have been produced in 1924 but most likely 1925.

1925 is what seemed likely to me, as mentioned in the Help With Strip Card Identification thread from a few weeks ago....

Of course this was based on the Brooklyn players.

Are any of these cards printed with two colors of ink on them?
