Had this one for a minute but hadn't posted it yet (at least I don't think so).

RPPC of Minneapolis Keystone team ca. 1909-1910. Frank "Bunch" Davis, Jesse Schaeffer and Dizzy Dismukes are in the shot.

Thought you all might like to see it.

This card set-me back $7 but was well worth every penny. What a journey it must have taken ................................I can only image a housewife in 1933 passing in front of the Morton Theatre and being given this card. She glanced at it, but never did find the time to see that summers blockbuster movie "Cohens and Kellys in Trouble." A year later, she is cleaning-up her pantry when this card falls out, she thought of throwing it in the trash but instead gives it to her eight-year old son. Little Billy tosses it around a little bit and promptly tacks it on his bedroom wall (multiple times). Fast forward 80+ years later.....................how in the world did it end-up in my hands??? I love this hobby business of ours!

By the way Jason, "WOW" on the postcard!!!

Iggy, totally agree.

I am not at all into baseball, for me the joy comes from the history of the card itself and the complexity of the sets. From printing press to pack 100+ years ago to end up in my hands. How many people have enjoyed this card, the travels of each one. Equally its about the design and beauty of the lithographs, photos and printing process.

Great pickups so far!

My favorite 'card journey' story was the one Jay B told us about the T205's that travelled all the way from the cigarette packs directly into his hands.

But it would be neat if each card came with a mini-film of its journey, perhaps skipping only the late '70s, just due to the background music.

Unfortunately, you need a new scanner. Per Chris Browne (and others) who helped me in the thread below, you need one with the CCD scanning element. I can tell you from my own trial-and-error that this is imperative. Thanks to the very helpful board members who gave advice in this thread:

Maybe a new baseball in a box? Doesn't look like his glove is on his hand so I'm thinking he's probably bringing them somewhere...he may even have to boxes in his hand as the one that is visible is sticking out pretty far in his hand...just my 2 cents...

Thanks Phil ! I was quite excited to get my hands on these!!

Each "card" is about 3"x2" and comes in a booklet that folds up accordian-style so that the front shows the "Mejoral" cover and the back has the "Dos Segundos" advertisement.

Below are more scans of the Mejoral Almendares booklet (w/ Dick Williams):

Yea, that O'Rourke really blows me away. Absolutely the only thing I can find "wrong" with it is the clip on the left edge. Other than that, it's untouched except for the rounded corners. It has some very minor creasing as well as what might be a faded pencil marking on the back.

All I can say is SGC killed it on the grade. Another example of BTCNTH! :D

Scott F- nice looking Gehrig there...

Packs- that is why I collect lower grade too. That card demonstrates precisely why you can't sell or make offers on lower end cards without seeing them. That card should sell for a 2+ price all day long.

And here are some W519s with wet sheet transfers on back. I already had the W519-1 Morton with full image on back. I notice someone is selling a very similar type card on ebay for 5k+. If anyone wants this one I will sell it for 4k, today only!!! :) (I paid $40 for it not too long ago, from Ed H.)

Just got this in off ebay.

http://www.net54baseball.com/picture.php?albumid=209&pictureid=5488

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the B&W versions and sepia versions are on a different card stock? This seems to be a B&W version, and it also seems that the paper stock is a bit thinner/more flimsy than the others I have. When held horizontally, there is a noticeable sag where my others are rigid. All of my other W554 are the sepia version.

Thanks,
DJ
