I thought it would be neat to see all the cards out there that you DON'T believe were graded correctly. Either undergraded or overgraded it doesn't matter. I'm assuming most are undergraded cards. Why do you believe it should have graded higher?? What's the biggest graded unmber increase anyone has ever gotten after a resubmit??

How about this? It used to be one of my pet peeves.....now, I just roll with it and know better than they do. And I am not "only" trying to pick on PSA, I know they all make mistakes.

It must have been a bad day in the American Caramel department at PSA

And a fairly big jump in grade

PSA is not the only one that messes up! Look at this one! Back is clean also.

Not defending SGC but you really need to be careful with cards where there's any amount of white coloration in the picture, borders or reverse. Any amount of paper loss to the surface will knock it down to the 20 - Fair. When the paper loss is in the white portion of the card it not always easily seen. What's wrong with the card below? Paper missing from Mel Harder's shoulder.

I just got this card graded by one of the brillant scientists at PSA. It was originally graded an SGC 60 & crossed over.

These are mine. The raw card is 1934 goudey #75 werber that was a psa 4 until I broke it out...notice the razor cut, penetrating the reverse side, about 1/4" above the gehrig face. The other is a 1940 play ball psa 4 mathewson...notice the cut on the right border 1/2" or so down? (Yeah, it goes all the way through too) I hate psa cards. I used to think if theyre graded at least theyre authentic and unaltered but not true. These guys spend how many seconds looking at these? What I do with these cards now? I spent 3x's the value in acquiring them. I HATE PSA, every day, twice on sunday and if anyone needs a bunch of psa cases busted LMK and I will provide my services for free with trash removal....rant, rant, rant....

I've shown this one before, but I'm still not sure why it's only a 2. Back looks just as nice and clean...

That's only a 2? WOW!

Reading this thread, along with my own experiences, is the reason that I refuse to buy a PSA graded card that I need and then try to cross it over to SGC. I am collecting T206 in only SGC and have not had a good experience trying to crossover PSA cards.

I mean you may pay top dollar for a PSA card you need, then spend more money to send it into SGC for a crossover, along with shipping expenses and then it doesn't cross over to that same grade. Now you are stuck with a PSA graded card that you don't want and now need to look to unload it.

The cards displayed so far in this thread are good arguements why the grading companies should stick to authenitcation and list the card as AUTHENTIC or AUTHENTIC/ALTERED. Too much subjectivity going on. Yes, I realize that this would greatly "wound" the grading companies because then people wouldn't be pissing all over themselves trying to get the card with the highest number on the label. I guess this could lead to a reduction in submissions because of the lack of a numbers game. It would be nice to at least have an industry standard set up so that ALL of the grading companies graded to the same criteria.

It's truly ironic that the part of our hobby that is related to "grading" and "authentication" is based on a "sham". It seems to be common knowledge that the first PSA card to be graded was trimmed and it just happened to be the "holy grail" of our hobby which the media will reference when the topic of baseball cards comes up.

The cards below are both graded SGC10. Don't get me wrong, I think SGC is the best in the business but I feel they should probably adapt a new grading scheme for blank backed cards (like OJs). Oh yeah, the Getzein is the card that I think was graded improperly. There is a little bit of glue residue on the back, other than that, it's a pretty sharp card.

I don't care so much for graded cards, so I only have a handful. Not sure why this would be such a low grade, but I was happy to get it at a PSA 1 price! It's not perfect by any means, but it's pretty nice.

Wow most of these look off by quite a bit! How shocking it must be to open that package from the grading company to see those numbers!
