Should the Rangers win tonite (or perhaps tomorrow), they will be the 10th different team to win the World Series in the past 11 years (2001 - 2011).

This variety of World Championship teams over such a long span hasn't occurred that often. In fact, the 10-year span from 1978 - 1987 produced 10
different World Championship teams......I think it's the longest consecutive period in which there was no repeat Championship teams.

Best part of that fact is that the Yanks only won 1 title and spent over a Billion getting it while the Marlins spent 63 bucks and a sack of marbles to win theirs.

I hope the Rangers win, not only because I am from Texas, but I think Nolan is a good guy.

DITTO........

In 1994, Mark Macrae and I set-up at Kit Young's Hawaii Show. The dealer set-up next to me was Jerry Grote (he was both selling Mets
stuff and doing some publicity for the Mets).

I hit it off with Jerry by first conversing with him about his hometown, San Antonio. I did basic training there when I was in the Air Force.

Yes, we (or shall I say he) did a lot of "talkin baseball". He had a lot of good things to say about Nolan Ryan; and, from that I really dev-
eloped a great appreciation for Nolan.

I'm hoping the Rangers win for Josh Hamilton to be able to get a World Series ring after all he's been through. I still can't believe the Reds gave him away!!

Yeah, but the Marlins only made 10 bucks in attendance. :D

And are worth 1.7 billion while the Marlins could be traded for a a few reprint T206 cards.

I'm a Yankees fan, but I'm pulling for the Rangers because they have never won it (and neither did their predecessor Senators). Also, I don't want the Cardinals getting any closer to the Yankees in total championships. It is bad enough that they are in double digits.
