The autographed items shown below belong to the same man who owns the Gehrig newspaper cut I posted a few days ago. I'd like some informed opinions on these pieces. I already fear the answer regarding the DiMaggio/Mantle/Williams but am hoping the 1965 Yankee program has a chance. Again, I really appreciate the help of other members as I don't collect autos.

That First tri signed photo looks very much like the one that is all over the place, and I think its a forgery. Chris Williams may have a better idea on that.

the Dimagg index card? or what that is..not sure, maybe

Program looks awful. I would think even if Maris and Mantle (I think thats who they are) signed fast, they wouldn't look that bad, ditto w Ellie howard. Of Course, some/most on here are more knowledgable and esp in "rushed sigs" but those look pretty bad to me.

Sorry, but again, Im not the expert some are on here. Lots of studying and reading similar threads is my only pedigree.

Scott,

Thank you for the feedback. I too think the triple signed photo is an example of all the fake garbage out there.

The program is signed by Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle, Hal Lopez and Elston Howard. I can't believe someone would forge a Mantle and do such a horrible job!

Personally the photo is the closest, but still no cigar. I don't like that everyone used the same fine point blue sharpie, because while all the auto collectors now love those fine sharpies, I'm not entirely sure when they started making them. To have Mantle there it would have to be pre 95', also when were all three of these guys signing at the same time? They all used the same pen. The big thing to me also is Teddy Ballgame's "T", I don't like that loop at the top at all.

The scorecard is shady as hell. If that's supposed to be Mantle's sig or Maris, I would drop it right back down on the table.

The Joey D on it's own looks close, but really I don't think I would take it based on everything else.

My humble opinion is pass. This guy sounds like he took everyone's word on what he was getting.

I'm just an amateur though, someone else I'm sure has some better info. Just my two cents based on what I would think standing at a show table.

The Joe D index card looks like the way his sister signed them with the way the o is

The program looks like a 10 year old kid was practicing his Mantle & Maris sigs.

let's not get carried away guys...the triple signed photo is a "known" horrible pathetic attempt at a forgery.

The program appears a pathetic attempt as well. Not sure on the Dimaggio that is by itself as I am just a lowly Mantle Collector & like a broken clock on Dimaggio. However, even a erratic 4th grader can tell the Dimaggio in the triple signed photo is a forgery.

1- The Joe D single signature is his ghost signing TTM example from 35-40 yrs ago.
2- The program is some kid writing players names on the cover and probably not an attempted forgery. If it was sold by a dealer that person has no business being in the autograph business.
3- The photo is straight from a forgery mill.

Richard and others -

Thank you again for your insight. It seems everything this guy has is no good. There is one more auto I will post tomorrow night - A Babe Ruth. I'm sure its a bad one just like the rest but I promised the gentleman I would post all of these. He also has two Marilyn Monroe autos that I showed to a long time collector/dealer of Hollywood autos. Guess what - no good.

Richard - Just curious...how are you able to tell the DiMaggio is one of the ghost signers from 35 years ago? Were there one or two people signing for him at that time?

Hey, Richard Simon agreed with what I said about the program! Maybe I should should become a FORENSIC EXAMINER.

Chris Williams, you think I'm qualified? ;)

After so many years in the business you pick up a few things if you keep your eyes and ears open :).
Judging by what I have seen there might have been two people signing for him, one is believed to be his sister.
