Before you mental midget morons start hammering me for outing an auction before it is over or for promoting my own auction, look at these pictures as I think someone is going to get smoked here.
I believe the ebay card was made or created from the Heritage card.
There are just too many of the exact same defects.
ebay card: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250877253705?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
heritage card: http://sports.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=714&lotNo=81119#Photo
I was going to hammer the ebay card til I found the Heritage auction from 2009.
If you decide to bid, be very careful. I am going to pass.

Hey my pleasure Scott, I enjoy helping fellow collectors. Thanks for the 2nd set of eyes too! I just never know when I think I am seeing smething that isn't there. ;)

Absolutely dead-on. Obviously, the corner wear is different and it came out a shade darker and he lost some of the stains on the back, but it's the same card.
Thanks for outing this one, Dan. That's a lot of positive feedback and a good professional write-up as well. Very strange.
all his other listings in past were concert tickets. If they weren't all positive feedback, it would make me think someone with a ticket fakers pedigree could easily accomplish this.

It is absolutely a copy. There is another Cobb D303 auction that ended August 19th on fireauctions.policeauctions.com worded exactly the same as this auction.http://fireauctions.policeauctions.com/index.php?Action=ShowItem&Item=534679
Nice Catch Dan....and whomever won it just got nailed for a bit over $1500.....they are probably rejoicing ...for the moment. :o

The seller is about 10 minutes from my house. I wrote him and asked if I could pick it up in person if I won and he said sure. Either he doesn't know or was taking a chance I wouldn't. I agree, the rating makes you wonder but I sent him a link to this thread and the information separately and he stopped responding to me. That leads me to believe premeditated slime.

Dan,
I agree with you, looks like a copy. It's usually a red flag for me that if the seller knows so much about the background of the card, and the set issue, but they sell it ungraded - it doesn't pass the smell test.
Hopefully, the buyer will read this thread or decide to pass before he pays, and not get burned.

98 bids ....WOW!
Hey my pleasure Scott, I enjoy helping fellow collectors. Thanks for the 2nd set of eyes too! I just never know when I think I am seeing smething that isn't there. ;)
I thought it was a copy from the get-go but as the bids started coming in, I thought maybe I was just wrong. Thanks Dan and Scott for confirming what I thought.

I must gracefully disagree with you Tony. I sell tons of raw cards and know more than the grading companies about all of them and mine are all legit. Dan.
