I've had these for about a year and I'm thinking of cracking the Beckett slabs and submitting them to SGC for grading. First of all, I think cards look a lot better in SGC holders and every other baseball card I have is graded by SGC. Does anyone know how much it costs and/or how long it takes to get them graded? Thanks

SGC is running a special this month that would allow you to get them graded for $17/card with a three day turnaround or $25/card with a next day turnaround. Or, if you're in the NY/NJ area, they're grading at a show this weekend for $20/card for same day service.

I'd leave them in the Beckett holders too when you submit. They'll almost certainly agree with the grades and have no problem cracking them out which would save you the trouble and risk of damaging the cards.

Does anyone know if SGC will be able to slab oversize items at the show this weekend?

To the best of my knowledge they'll be encapsulating cards of all sizes.

Brian, by "this weekend" do you mean Thurs - Sun? I'm headed there this afternoon and my bring some cards to grade.

Thanks

Hi Dan,

Yes, SGC will be grading onsite starting today.

Here's the info from their site...looks like a $500 max value on the $20 special and then regular show rates beyond.

anyone have any tips for cracking the BVG slabs? they seem pretty solid, albeit unattractive.
Thanks,

I got 13 W series strip cards and 1 T206 Mathewson Dark Cap graded for $240 today at the East Coast National in White Plains. If you pay for 10 cards at $20 each they will grade two more for free --- if you mention that you are a member on the Net54 forum (btw, thanks Leon). All 14 cards took about 3 hours to grade --- just about enough time to stop by each table and browse around. I'm guessing that it will be much busier on Saturday and Sunday however, especially given the lousy weather forecast.
