David, nice Highlanders sigs! How many of the 1903 team do you have?
Here's a couple from one of my favorite teams, the 1934 Gas House Gang Cardinals. Bill Delancey 1911- 1946, and Chick Fullis 1904 -1946

Thanks David! Sure enough, that would be him. The distinctive "T" in Tannehill has always been the give for me. Do you believe that your signature originates from the 1950's? I think his death date was somewhere around the mid 1950's (1956 maybe?)...

Awesome Highlanders collection autograph collection! Congrats!

Chris,

That is indeed a toughie - wow! I don't think I've ever seen one. Then again, I don't think I ever looked, either. But man, what a tragic story for Willard.

And how apropos that you posted it on August 3! Bravo!

David - Whoops, calling him Norman threw me off.. Can I see your Kid Elberfeld?

Thanks,
Matt

My bad David.. That's nice.. The only other one I saw was the Topps release that's on eBay for 10k (which doesn't hold a candle to yours, imo), but Topps has it signed Kid instead of Norman.

A Germany Schaefer (H. Schaefer) signed 1907 A.C. Dietsche postcard that autograph dealer Ron Gordon sold to me years ago. To this day, Ron continues to try and entice me to sell it back to him. But I'm not ready to part with it yet. Beside, it's stored miles away, with most of my baseball-related collection. It would require a road trip, plus the additional time to search through various boxes to locate. Perhaps someday. T206Collector has been patiently waiting for me to make that trip, so that I can show him the Charles Boss Schmidt signed T206 card I have buried in those boxes too.

The H. Schaefer signature isn't the easiest to see, due to the dark background. I messed around with the brightness and grey scales, in an attempt to improve the visibility. Maybe I could use one of those black box displays too.

Here are scans of the signatures of three extremely early non-HOF pitchers that threw 2 no-hitters:

Ted Breitenstein (No-hitters in 1891 and 1998) (D-1935)

Al Atkinson (No-hitters in 1884 and 1886) (D-1952- not pre 1950, but close)

Adonis Terry (No-hitters in 1886 and 1888) (D-1915)

How about a Hersh on a 1940 (died Aug 6 1940) team ball?
