This is the kind of garbage that upsets real collectors. Derek Jeter becomes the first Yankee ever to reach 3,000 hits and then you get the Ebay sellers of forgeries who list crap like the below. They take advantage of the ignorant and count on the emotional attachment of fans to Derek Jeter. And the majority of the time they list it as a "1-Day" auction like the below listing from Ebay seller "vintagehofascollector."

Another Jeter forgery. The seller claims that Derek had a private signing with a company called "Just Rookies II" back in 1996. Totally untrue. 100% forgery and not close to a Jeter 1996 circa autograph.

Looks like so many of these forgeries are based on copying other [bad] forgeries. Not even close.

This is why people pay $500 for a Steiner version. At least they know they're not getting a forgery.
