Just received this in the mail today, and condition of the SGC holder has me a little concerned... wondering your thoughts. The slab looks a little frosty imo, and I did notice a little chipped piece in the top left corner that is ready to fall out. This is my first '52 Topps card, so I'm not sure if I should be looking for anything in particular.

I should note that the seller has over 1000 + feedback, 100%.

The auction image does show some signs of frosting, though very tough to distinguish, and definitely none of the chipping that I see on the slab. Could it be from the shipping?

Am I being overly paranoid with this?

It looks good. A lot of SGC cards look cracked on the bottom corners. The sides still look good. I think you're fine.

I've seen this before and it seems to be common
The card is nice for a 4.

Def good. I have a '52 Mantle with the same frosting issues as your Robinson. I actually think the problem is a little more common on SGC encapsulated 1952 Topps cards. The black inserts in the holder sometime affect the sonic welding, causing the frosting.

Looks like a nice card. I have 2 variations of it ( and the Mantle and Thompson, 310-313...the double prints from the last series). On the Robinson, the best way to tell them apart is whether the stitches on the ball on the back run to the left or right. The Mantle and Thompson also have distinctive front differences, less so on the Robinson, but on the other one the black border has tails on the corners of the black front border.

I have a bunch of sgc graded cards with little frosting at points like yours and they are not "cracked" out....Furthermore the card looks good, i think you are being paranoid, worth asking though, nice card
