Hi All:

I have seen in various places over the years a mention of a set of Rawlings Glove Tags. Bob Schmierer who used to run the Old Philly shows before Hunts put out a Phillies Checklist book back in 1983 that listed the following:

1955 Rawlings ( H-Unc) 2" x 3" color

Ashburn, Hamner, Lopata

More recently I saw a listing for a 1960 Rawlings Glove tag for Ashburn here:

http://www.baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/Search_by_Player

where Ashburn is listed as #2. Mathews as #20, Musial as #22 etc.

Can anyone give me info or post photos of any of these glove tags?

Thanks in advance for any help you can supply!

Nope, that's what I am trying to find. Photos, checklist info, etc. How can this stuff be out there in print yet no one has ever seen them?

Hi,
I think these cards from their Advisory Staff are very attractive and difficult to find items. In the last 4 decades i've only seen a few. I recall seeing some "sets" or groups in a major auction like REA, Legendary, etc.., not so long ago.

If I had to guess which person would have the best knowledge on these, I'd say it's my good friend and fellow Net54 member Bill Zimpleman. He was the first type collector i ever met and his knowledge of "all things in our hobby" is impressive.

Give Bill Z. a shout and I bet you can help.

Good luck!
