What do we have in common with Moe and CC Sabethia?

We were each born on July 21st.

Who are the most interesting players with whom you share a birthday?
Do you have an example of their card- Unfortunately we do not collect
modern cards and thus do not have cards of either Moe or CC

No one significant Pre-War, but Post-War it would be Garrett Anderson....and Mike Tyson!

When I was a kid I had a Yankee calender that said Dave Righetti was born on November 29th.

I thought that was great, as Righetti was a big star at the time.

Found out a couple years later the calender was wrong and he was actually born on November 28th. :(

As it happens, another great Yankee reliever came around who actually was born on my birthday, named Mariano Rivera.

Other notables were Minnie Minoso, Bill Freehan, Mike Easler and Howard Johnson.

There was also a 90's pitcher from the Dominican Republic named Pedro Martinez................not the one you're thinking of though. :D

November 26th- Lefty Gomez, Hugh Duffy, Bob Elliot, Chuck Finley.

Outside of Baseball, Shawn Kemp, Art Shell, Jan Stenerud, Dale Jarrett, Tina Turner, Robert Goulet. And the NHL was formed on this day, so that would make it the NHL's birthday as well.

Barry, Thank you so much for the kind words. I honestly believe I made it to 50 because of such wonderful friends as you and our gang here on net54!
As for 8/4, you have a great Birthday, too. I must say that on your list, William James Surhoff is truly a great guy! I spent some time with him at a show in the 80's out in Chicago. he was the best!

Fun thread Bruce.

For me, just missing April Fool's Day means I share a birthday with HOFers Hugh Jennings, Luke Appling and Don Sutton. Also, Reggie Smith and Billy Pierce. Sutton & Smith were born the same year.

Bruce - I like this thread and appreciate the fact that you started it. Knowing that you do not collect modern cards, so you couldn't post a scan, here is a list of the players born in the 19th century that share your birthday, you MUST have something that we would all enjoy from one of them.

July 17th - Me and Lou Boudreau, Don Kessinger, Roy McMillan and Eddie Brown and of course, Phyllis Diller and Art Linkletter. Interestingly, no pitcher born on my birthday has a winning major league record. That might explain my poor pitching arm also.

March 23 - If it wasn't for their birth years, these guys would be a great bunch of T207 wannabees: Pete Loos, Cy Slapnicka, Sig Broskie, Lou Lucier, Stan Pitula, and Barney Koch.

Peaches Graham, Gavvy Cravath and Ray Kremer are among the few recognizable pre-war players.

When I was a kid, my mom bought me one of those Dover Reprint baseball card books for Christmas one year. While ripping the cards out of the book, I happened to notice that Mickey Mantle and I shared the same birthday.

That card was my first show-and-tell object when we got back from break. I still have the card, folded and creased from carrying it in my pocket that day.

Later, I found out that Juan Marichal also was born on 10/20. I figured I was in good company.
