Does anyone know how big the card show will be at the All Star Fanfest in Phoenix this year? How about past years?

I'm thinking about going but would like to know what to expect.

Thanks!

I went to the one in San Fran awhile ago. It was huge. Lots of signers, (if you're interested in that) lots of free stuff (got like 15 promotional MasterCard baseballs) and overall just pretty cool. Worth a trip.

I also went in SF in 2007... had several day passes that came with my season tickets, so I went to it every day and was able to get 14-15 HOF signatures, ALL were free with admission. I think normal admission was only like $15 though. Pretty good deal when you consider these autos are probably $40 minimum at a show.. and you get to meet all signers in person.

Fanfest is awesome. Lots of free stuff. Lots of free signers which means huge lines for anyone decent. For a free HOFer you could be in line for a couple hours before they are even scheduled to sign to get a place in line.

In St. Louis the card show within Fanfest was pretty small and everything was way overpriced.

Overall The event is an amazing walk through history. Great stuff to look at, bid on, and buy.

Bring some comfortable shoes and enjoy!

I went in Boston in '99...it was great. As others said, a ton of free swag...there were many people signing, but the lines were insane so I didn't get any signatures. Great experience though.

It can be disappointing, however, if you are looking for a great experience -- then by all means attend

I went to the All Star Fanfest in New York in 2008 and took lots of pictures. Check 'em out, they should give you some idea what the event is like...

Back in 1921, pitchers complained the ball was too slick. Since then, before each game, batboys rub every baseball with a special mud from the Delaware River.
