This is the best I could find. (http://www.sportscard-stores.com/store/986/martinsville/rachel-and-roberts-sports-cards)

No clue what they have in the vintage and prewar category. (haven't been there, found it online)

According to a Google Search, the population of Martinsville, VA was 14,543 in July 2008. I am surprised that that even have a single baseball card shop. I had not heard of Martinsville, VA before your post. I live in Virginia, but it is a big state and I don't travel that part of the state much.

Good luck with the card shop... There might also be some antique shops around there as well....

There's a decent size card shop in the old downtown area on 58. However they didn't have any pre WW2 cards (almost all modern cards) the day I stopped in but were really friendly.

Depending on direction you are coming from to Martinsville, there are two shops in Charlottesville, Va. The best one for vintage singles, and friendly is:

J & L Sports Cards
1867 Seminole Trail (Route 29)
Charlottesville, Va. 22901
Phone 434-973-1704

Has been there for 20 years and does have a vintage card case. Last saw a few T206's, very nice E90-2 Dots Miller PSA 6, various raw 40's, '50's (Clemente Rookie) and '60's and '70's.

I have lived within an hour of there for years. There were two active vintage dealers there in the 80s who pretty much picked the area clean, however, there was good interest at the time so there may be a few collections around there.

We are riding up to Chantilly (DC area), which is a very good show, on Friday early and staying until the show closes on Saturday.
