Is there any way to tell the difference between the 2 years for any given player that appears in both? Did they use different photographs (front) or have other distinguishing features (different back logo?)?

Researching at Old Cardboard gave me the impression that the years are lumped together rather broadly. I have a Cotton Pippen which I believe is from 1947. Im not sure if the 1946 is identical or if there is any way I can verify its 47 (or 46).

Thanks for any insights!

Using the examples pictured in the Standard Catalog, the 1946 has a Remar brand loaf; the 1947 has a Sunbeam.

Now, that goes out the window if the backs in each year mixed different brands in the illustrations.

what Bob said about the loaves is correct, but also the backs of the 1946 cards are printed in both red and blue, while the backs of the 1947 cards are printed in only blue.
